Survival Tips!
  • Evaluations of extraocular movement and eye alignment are critical survival skills. Abnormalities can be a sign of serious, and occasionally life-threatening pathology.

  • Limited extraocular movement is an indicator of orbital disease.

  • The rectus muscles form the boundary of the intraconal space, the cone-shaped area behind the eye.

Emergency Care To Note
  • Disease processes that affect the orbital apex or intraconal space tend to be the most sight-threatening.
